Since 2005, IRS laws have changed from allowing donors to claim an “appraised” or estimated value (such as a “blue book” valuation) as a tax deduction for the majority of donated cars, boats, and RVs. The law in most cases currently allows for the donor to claim only the gross selling price (which is the price the donation sells for: the selling price is what the IRS uses to determine the value of the donation). We always recommend donors get advice from their tax advisor before claiming a tax deduction. There are some exceptions to the “gross selling price” rule which apply to certain “high value” donations or property used by the charity to fulfill their mission. Call for further information.

We take the time to repair and refurbish your property whenever it is economically feasible: increasing the worth of your property and maximizing the sales price and probable tax deduction. We sell retail (not wholesale) whenever feasible to increase the value of the donation.
